The Real Estate Agent Interview

Thirty minutes, in person, at no cost.

Choosing your representation

The agent who represents a purchase or sale shapes one of the largest financial decisions a household makes, and that agent is paid when the transaction closes. The choice deserves a meeting before any agreement is signed.

Interview more than one real estate agent before you sign; I welcome the comparison. It is your home and your money, and the decision deserves that care.

Who it serves

Buyers and sellers who have not yet chosen representation and prefer to meet the agent, and examine her methods, before committing.

The agenda

  • Method: how I would approach your purchase or sale, step by step, and the analysis I would prepare first.
  • Representation: I handle every stage personally, from the first showing or listing appointment through closing.
  • Market knowledge: current conditions in your area and their bearing on price and timing.
  • Communication: how and when I respond, and what to expect once under contract.
  • Terms: how compensation works, what the agreement provides, and how either party may end it if the fit proves wrong.

The outcome

You leave with a sound basis for choosing your representation, and with the measure of the person you would be trusting.
